Ellen... I love the positive/negative nature of this print. It's very effective with the idea of growth, roots, above and below ground. Lots to muse over in such a seemingly simple image!!!

Nice work. I agree with the previous poster about the power and balance of your positive and negatives spaces. What about a print done in russets and browns for winter? Then another in shades of green?

I agree with both comments - I also think the block, itself, speaks loudly - a carving of the tree carved from a tree... gknee

This is a departure for me. I don't usually do stylized images, but this tree spoke to me. I had to do it to get it out of my head!

I was going to do it in ochre and brown or black, but for some reason I got teal in my head. My head is a messy place. ;-j
