Knight's Tale ~ Pan Pastels

Pan Pastel over woodcut ~ Canterbury Tails ~ The Knight's Tale.  I like the composition but I've never been happy with the print, burnt sienna w/ black tapped in.

So I added pastel.  I like it as a first try.  I'll work on the color next time, but at least now it has depth.

I like it too! You know you could carve some more blocks for the added colors. You'd only need a couple of colors to make it sing, like it does with the pastels.

Oh I know, Terry. But I'm so lazy I hate doing the same work twice! I've only managed to carve multiple blocks 2 or 3 times. I'd rather do a reduction block. Isn't that silly? ;- ]

No, it's not silly, I know exactly what you mean - for me it's all about registration and my woes therein. Maybe someday I'll figure it out!

I learned to put the paper down first and the block on top, and I find that's pretty accurate for registration. It's just the re-carving that stops me. ;- j

In fact I have one image that I think is kewt and all I have to do is carve the second block to print it.... ;- ]
