Acid etching on grey paper with reddish brown ink. Rough rock wall background texture created with sand in soft ground, sanding and burnishing the plate after etching.

B&W woodcut of my now 22 year old son and me. This was my third woodcut and the reason I fell in love with the medium.

Flavia's Unicorn

Paleo-Unicorn (Flavia), Paleo-Mythos Series
This woodcut is patterned after Flavia's heraldic device in her colors. I daubed extra green on the unicorn and red on the hand. I liked the rounder look to the cuts.

Off the Wall

Paleo-Phoenix, Paleo-Mythos Series
This is a viscosity woodcut print, using the 3 primary colors rolled on in different viscosities. Some color was wiped off, other colors mingled. This technique is always a happy accident.
