So we were on vacation -- a train trip to the midwest for our 35th anniversary -- and some of my prints fell into range of my paper loving dog, Loki:

I think it only got chewed in passing -- he was actually after a packet of Southern Winter/Northern Summer Solstice prints (the backyard series)! Luckily they were still in their plastic envelope and my son was able to rescue them before any damage was done. But Foggy wasn't so lucky.

Now that wouldn't be such a problem -- except: that particular print was up on ETSY and it had just sold! Yikes!

I didn't have many Foggy prints on hand, and none of the others were as nice as the one in my shop. So I printed up some more, and one or two of those look similar to the chewed one.

As soon as they dry I'll send one off to my patient patron. And hey, she gets a great story to go with it, right? ;-y

My monsters can be so kewt when they're sleeping. ;-> I love how they're entwined. They sleep all over each other (and us). Here they're being slug-a-beds.

I did this monoprint yesterday. I'll see what I can do with pastel tomorrow (alas at home, as school is closed for the holiday). No class again until next Wed.! The grups are grumpy over it.

Loki Lounge Lizard

Here's Loki just lolligagging around. His favorite position on the couch. It's also my way of making lemonade out of a particularly sour lemon. The blue was way too sticky and hard to work with so I rerolled with red and traced again. Faint blue lines came up by way of outline, and as I worked I got a kewl grape (except for a few nicely placed patches of red). So all in all a success.
I liked the background when I did it, but I think I'd make it recede into the background next time. It does on the ghosts.

Loki's Signature Style

Here's a framed monoprint signed by Loki. He got into a bag of frames and matts before I could use them and I was complaining to everyone about it. My nephew had the brilliant idea of using them for pictures of Loki. Terrific! So here's Loki and his handiwork, pre-chewed by the model. How many artists can say that?

Loki Monoprint

Just a little monoprint, and I mean little: 1.5"x2.25", the smallest plate I've ever beveled. It's printed on a Japanese paper, smooth on print side, fiber inclusions on other side.

I'm getting better at using the small pointy stomp, the flatt stubbier one, various chopsticks, wrapped and unwrapped, and tapping color back down with a finger (erases the dots). Getting better lights and darks. Need to work more on the shades in the middle.
